Navigation Functions

Searching

• Address search - Simply input the street name and city.
• Points of Interest (POI) - POIs are stored in categories as well as independent entries by name. When a POI such as shopping centre, restaurant or any other type of location is input, the AVN6000 instantly checks the database and matches it if it can be located. Once found, further information on that particular POI that has been stored in the database will be displayed such as address, telephone number, and other useful information.
• Map Search - Just use your finger to drag the cursor to the location you want to go to.
• Memory search - Allows selecting a destination from 100 preset locations. Sound tags can be assigned to locations.
• Previous - Allows you to choose from the 20 last-visited locations.
• Home search - Shows the way back home (pre-registered) from wherever the vehicle may be.
• Freeway search - Input the freeway name and desired entrance/exit for full guidance.
• Co-ordinates - Input the longitude and latitude co-ordinates.

Routing

• 3 routes - Once a destination is selected, the AVN will instantly recommend routes Quick 1, Quick 2 and Short to choose from.
• Road preference - Allows selecting the type of road preferred that the AVN will use when configuring a route. This makes it easy to use or avoid all toll roads, stick to freeways or allow using ferries etc.
• Must travel routing - Up to 2 roads can be assigned as "must travel sections” so the AVN will always include them when setting a complete route.
• Detour input - Up to 10 areas to avoid because of chronic traffic congestion or other reasons can be input. The AVN will automatically work out the best detours that avoid the problem areas.
• En-route stopping points - Up to 5 locations along the route to a destination can be selected.
• Route preview - The AVN will also provide a convenient preview of the selected route from start to destination when requested.

Assistance whenever needed

• Voice announcements and guidance - Helpful announcements on any upcoming turn as the car approaches it, along with guidance for curves and driving lanes.
• Map and positional updating - Even temporarily out of the GPS satellites’ range as when blocked by a tall building, a gyro sensor and auto speed pulse will accurately correlate the car’s travel with the onscreen map display.
• Auto rerouting - Diverting from a recommended route accidentally or on purpose will call up a new alternate route instantly with high-speed processing.
• Intersection zooming - The AVN display automatically splits as an intersection is approached where a turn is essential, showing a zoomed version with distance remaining to the next turn and various other cues as well as the regular display.
• Freeway interchanges - The AVN6000’s easy-to-see graphics simplify the most complex interchanges and correct lane displays.
• Freeway exit displays - No worries about missing the right exit because the AVN6000’s advanced graphics make it easy to see the right exit, its name and related useful information.
